The Moment that Changed Everthing

The Moment that Changed Everything

It was September 15, 1996. That day will stand out for the rest of my life, because that day was career at my high school. The week before that day my mother was on me about; what are you going to do after high school? I had already put off taking the S.A.T exam. So the entire upper class has to attend this career in the gymnasiums. I went in their not knowing what I was going to do with the rest of my life. Man I was only 17 years old. After an hour are so of roaming around their. This guy is a white suit stop me and ask “hey son want to travel the world and go to college at the same time” So I said yeah, what would I have to do. Petty Officer Smith told me all you would have to do is join the Navy. I didn’t know anything about the Navy or what they did. So I sign my name in the dotted line. When he review my information, he told my I was not a legal age to enroll by my self. So he told me how about you have your parents come by the office and talk with me. Later on that day my parents and I talked about me joining the Navy. They ready did not want me to join; they wanted me to attend college. After many conversations my parents decided that I could to join the Navy. Now it was time for me to leave for Basic training, and everything was alright until we boarded the bus. Once that bus stop and the door open this guy boarded the bus and started screaming at everyone. I thought to myself what I got myself into; maybe I could run away. As I look back on that my decision this was that best thing that happen to me and I would do it all over again.
